Relay for Life

Relay for Life was huge success! Thanks to the hard work of our team, organization and our donors, the Pickens County Cattlewomen walked away with 3 awards! Relay Team Spirit Award, Best Team Campsite, and Best Overall Fundraising Team!
 Congratulations Ladies!!!
The best part of the entire evening was knowing we raised over $3,000 for the American Cancer Society. Click here to learn more about how the American Cancer Society helps those affected by cancer.  Thanks again for helping making the event a success!

A special THANKS to the Lady of the Evening... Pat Swann. Thank you for being such an inspiration to us all!

Meeting Date Changed

Just a few reminders & notifications...

  1. Our next meeting has been changed from Thursday, May 17 to TUESDAY, MAY 15.  Time and location are the same... 6:30 pm @ Erin's Camphouse.  Anyone willing to bring food for the meeting can email or call Jodie and she can coordinate everything.
  2. We need 5-6 more t-shirt orders to meet the minimum re-order requirement for Relay for Life t-shirts. Remember all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. If you know of anyone interested, bring name, shirt size and money to the meeting on Tuesday.
  3. If you have not paid for your t-shirt from the original order, please do so ASAP.
  4. Pictures from Relay for Life & Dee River Ranch Field Day will be posted soon!

Last Night's Meeting

We got so much accomplished last night and I'd like to thank everyone who came!

T-shirts: If you ordered a t-shirt and did not pick it up at last night's meeting, you can pick it up at the Relay for Life event next Friday. Let me know if you would like me to wash it so you can wear it at the event.

Bank Night for Relay for Life is this coming Monday, April 23 from 4-6 p.m. at the 1st National Bank in Carrollton. If you are able, we'd love to have you join our team as we turn in our money that we've raised.
Relay for Life is one week from today, Friday, April 27 at Pickens County Medical Center in Carrollton. The event begins around 6 (survivor activities will begin at 5, I believe). Please come and hang out with us while we walk through the night to fight cancer! You can even bring us some drinks and snacks if you get the urge.

According to my calculations (*disclaimer: math is NOT my forte*), here is my projected donation total from us to the Relay for Life...

Are you ready for this?!?!? drumroll please....
The Pickens County Cattlewomen will donate approximately $2500 to the American Cancer Society!!! Maybe a little more once we get accurate totals from our t-shirt sale and on-site fundraiser. HOORAY! HOORAY!! HOORAY!!!

I am so proud of everyone for help us support this wonderful organization and I hope that y'all are also proud our yourselves.

On to other business, please do not forget if you volunteered to help assemble sack lunches for the field day at Dee River Ranch on Friday, May 4, make sure you are there no later than 10 a.m. Please call Jodie (205)373-1033 if you committed yourself but are unable to make it.

Thanks again for all that you do!

It's Fall Yall!

Tomorrow (October 1, 2011), we will be having a Fall Renovation Retreat at the home of Erin Smith from 11-1. This will be a great time for reconnecting with each other over great food and laughs. In addition to our fun, we'll be discussing the future of our organization as well as some exciting upcoming events.

Bring yourself, bring a friend, and bring a finger food appetizer if you can!

We can't wait to see you there!
